Itacamba Cement launches US$95.6m notes offering

Itacamba Cemento of Bolivia has announced a US$95.6m notes offering on the Bolivian stock exchange. The company is a subsidiary of Cementos Molins and Votorantim Cementos of Spain and Brazil, respectively. Previsión AFP Bolivia acted as initial purchasers on the offering. Itacamba Cementos is headquartered in Santa Cruz and has a cement capacity of approximately 1Mta with a grinding plant in Puerto Quijarro and an integrated plant in Yacuces.

Itacamba expects to export 119,000t to Paraguay and Argentina

Bolivian cement producer Cemento Itacamba projects cement exports of 119,000t to Paraguay and Argentina this year. The company expects to deliver over 60,000t to Argentina as well as starting exports to Paraguay as part of its strategy to penetrate neighbouring markets. Molins and Votorantim to control Bolivia's Itacamba

Cementos Molins of Spain plans the acquisition of a majority stake in Bolivia's Cementos Itacamba. The purchase is expected to take place via Spain-based Yacuces, a joint venture with Brazil-based Votorantim Cimentos, which is also its associate in Argentina (Cementos Avellaneda) and Uruguay (Cementos Artigas).
